Treatment begins by disinfecting the treatment area and applying a topical numbing agent. The topical anaesthetic requires around 45 minutes to take effect. Once the numbing cream has taken effect the treatment can begin. During treatment, the microneedling and radiofrequency device will be stamped across the treatment area. The needles will puncture the skin’s surface and simultaneously deliver radiofrequency energy to the lower dermal layers. You can expect to feel some pressure during this process but the numbing cream will minimise discomfort. Depending on the size of the treatment area, treatment time will vary from 15 minutes to 1 hour. For optimal results a treatment course of 2-3 treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart is recommended.
